Dave Ramsland's studio is set amongst the trees on Burri Road not more than 5 minutes from the beach at Malua Bay. There is space to park and plenty of beautiful birds to see in this bushland setting. The devastating bushfires of New Year's Eve 2019 heavily impacted the gardens around the house but not the studio. We stayed to fight and were lucky to save the buildings and the studio and its garden, while many of our neighbours sadly lost everything.

Some of Dave's latest works reflect the physical and emotional rawness of  the destruction and renewal of the landscape. He has also added many smaller works to his studio collection from the plein air painting he has been enjoying in 2020. These little works in oil depict the more bucolic surrounds of the local area, which has bounced back with renewed hope and vigour, full of promise and vitality.
